This was a well put together episode and this is the first time I saw the new season. The show discusses the current state of reality TV using the show "Hard Focus" as its driver. The show is basically their version of NBC's to catch a predator, except a distraught view kills one of the men exposed on the show. The detectives find the actual killer, who happens to be a female, who was hired by the show to do another reality TV spin off about molested children, coincidentally the person murdered was the same person who molested this woman when she was 12, but the question remains did she act alone or did someone else give her the tools and motivations to kill. Watterson goes after the producer of the show since she did give her the information and weapons she needed to kill the man, knowing that she had some intention of causing harm to the man. The debate is centered around the current state of our news and entertainment. It is based on the premise that the current state of journalism is more about sensationalism and less about reporting. Also some secondary themes are about vigilantism and treatment of sexual predators by outside society. Considering The DA wanted Watterson to plead out the female killer and public support behind her for killing the sexual predator.
